Learn Guitar · Haarlem
Three hours. One topic. Real progress. Each workshop is a focused, hands-on session designed to move you forward on a specific area of the guitar.
All workshops are self-contained and open to all levels. You don't need to have attended any other workshop to join.
Clean, fast, effortless playing starts with how you move, not how much you practice. This workshop breaks down picking-hand and fretting-hand fundamentals — economy of motion, tension control, alternate picking vs. economy picking vs. legato — and gives you a practice routine to keep building speed and precision after the workshop ends.

Great guitarists aren't just accurate, they groove. This session trains your internal clock — subdivision, syncopation, locking in with a metronome and a band — so your playing feels as good as it sounds, at any tempo or style.
Understand why chords exist, how they're built from the scale, and why some progressions feel like "home" and others pull toward tension. By the end, you'll build the chords of any major key from memory and hear the function behind the songs you already play.
Take the chords you know and spread them across the entire neck. Inversions, open vs. closed voicings, and moving the same triad across string sets — the toolkit behind compact rhythm playing, double-stops, and targeted soloing.
One more note changes everything. This workshop covers 7th chords, extensions, inversions, and drop 2/drop 3 voicings — the vocabulary that takes you from strumming open chords to playing like you know what you're doing.
The scale behind more solos than any other. Learn all five positions, how to connect them across the neck, and how to actually sound musical with them — not just run shapes up and down.
Same seven notes, seven different colours. Demystify modes by hearing them as shifts in centre, not abstract theory — and walk away able to apply them to real playing, not just recite names.
The sound of one scale told over an entire chord progression — tonal-centre improvisation at its purest. Phrasing, bends, call-and-response, and the vocabulary that makes blues instantly recognisable.
Riff-driven, hook-first playing that sits between tonal and harmonic thinking. Build the rhythm and lead vocabulary behind the songs on the radio — and learn when to track the chords vs. when to just lock into the groove.
Harmonic-centre improvisation — where the scale changes with every chord. ii-V-I vocabulary, chord-tone targeting, and the comping voicings that make you sound like you belong on the bandstand.
